Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement, ECGS, injections and new/yearly patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Our receptionists have all have been trained within the surgery in reception work and most are very experienced. Anything you tell the receptionist will be treated in absolute confidence. A brief explanation of your problem may enable them to suggest the best person to help you, or offer the most suitable appointment. If you have any comment or criticisms to make about reception, please direct them to the practice manager.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women.
